Ile St. Louis - perhaps the most special spot in the most special
city in the world - is only six blocks long and two blocks wide.
This quaint little island, with no subway stop, is an escape from
the hustle and bustle of the city. Three metro lines however, can
easily be reached by crossing the appropriate bridge to the Left
or Right Banks. You'll be one of a community of about 6,000 surrounded
by 16th and 17th century mansions, with their beautiful stone-paved
courtyards; fashionable shops, and terrific restaurants.

The most famous ice cream shop in Paris, Berthillon, is a few seconds
away and the Seine River is at your doorstep! Each time you cross
the Pont de la Tournelle, "on the way to the continent," as
the locals like to say, you'll have a breathtaking view of Notre
Dame that will leave you dazzled. The Latin Quarter on the Left Bank,
and the Marais on the Right Bank, are just short strolls away. This
is truly the heart of Paris!
Located in a beautiful 17th Century building on the Ile Saint Louis,
on the banks of the Seine River, in a small and very quiet street,
and right next to the lively "rue Saint-Louis en l'Ile" with
stores, boutiques, cafes, and restaurants.

Only 6,000 Louisiens
live in this perfect little world apart; the most romantic quartier
in Paris. There are few tourist must-sees, yet tourists, both foreign
and Parisian, flock here. They come to see daily life in the old
capital; a village preserved and richly enhanced by splendid 17th-century
aristocratic dwellings. And everywhere, those views! Did river-gazing
influence Marie Curie, Camille Claudel, Voltaire, Daumier? Their
well-known names are among the many chiseled into plaques labeling
the fine mansions along the quays.
The building has a magnificent entrance with old cobblestones.

with antics (Henri II dressers, game and round tables Regency table,
Louis XVI desk and game table, Napoleon dresser). It has been completely
remodeled in May 2001!
Thanks to its over 3 feet thick walls, the apartment keeps cool
during Summer. In addition, a portable A/C unit provides a fresh
breeze if needed.

bathroom (with a combination shower/tub, a sink, a washer and a dryer
and a toilet.)
The door in the middle is the dining-room and the kitchen (the
kitchen looks onto the dining-room and is equipped with a dishwasher,
burners, combined electrical and microwave oven ,
fridge and toaster, coffee-machine, as well as all necessary
kitchen utensils). The dining-room has a table and 6 chairs,
telephone/answering machine.

dresser, sofa, desk, fireplace, stereo-CD player, and cable TV
(CNN, BBC news, Euronews, cinema,etc.).
The 2nd bedroom is at the last door and has a queen bed ( also
